Prefetch is also like recent files which needs to be removed time and time again. You may’ve heard of Prefetch for a long time in case of cleaning unnecessary files and increasing Laptop’s speed. 1. Hit Windows Key + R.
  2. Type prefetch and press Enter.
  3. Then a pop-up appears, again hit Enter.
  4. Now prefetch folder will open with a number of files in it.

  • Cleaning Temporary Files.

Without any third-party programs, we are cleaning unnecessary files manually. Because those programs may affect the speed of your computer. Moreover, some of the programs are marked unsafe and carried a virus in itself. It’s best to perform those tasks manually to get rid on unnecessary trouble to download and install the program. So let’s start by deleting temporary files.

First Process:

  1. Hit Windows Key + R.
  2. Type temp and press Enter.
  3. Then a pop-up appears, again hit Enter.
  4. Now temp folder will open with a number of files in it.
  5. Select all files at once by Ctrl + A & delete by pressing Shift + Delete.

Second Process:

  1. Hit Windows Key + R.
  2. Type %temp% and press Enter.
  3. Then a pop-up appears, again hit Enter.
  4. Now temp folder will open with a number of files in it.
  5. Select all files at once by Ctrl + A & delete by pressing Shift + Delete.

Also delete every unnecessary files stored in your Recycle bin too. This idea seems silly, but files from recycle bin also affects system performance. Because those files stored inside Recycle Bin are again stored under Local Disk C. Which obviously uses Disk’s space in unnecessary way. So, delete or schedule the Recycle Bin to permanently clean itself in certain amount of time.
