Most people prefer to buy the best performing laptop in budget. And they’ll buy after some research on specifications and price of the laptop. But after some months they’ll face the problem of lagging. Temporary files created by software are responsible for the lag. Not only the temporary files but the regular update also plays the vital role to slow your computer’s performance. A regular update will somehow Increase Your Laptop/PC performance. Apart from the updates, today we are dealing with the major problems. So, buckle up and follow me.

  • Power Option Setting.

Laptop have built-in feature to optimize performance for lower power usage. So, we’ve to disable that feature with following steps:

  1.  Go to start menu.
  2. Click the gear ( Setting ) icon on the left bottom.
  3. Navigate to System Setting and open Power & sleep tab.
  4. Then click on Additional Setting.
  5. Change the Balanced Power Plan to High Performance.
  6. Finally click on Save Changes.

  • Disabling Unused Windows Settings.

We are going to disable those unwanted and rarely used windows settings, which allows you to retrieve a good amount of system resources free.

  1.  Go to start menu.

  3. Navigate to System Setting and open Privacy Settings.
  4. Now disable all those 4 options.

  2. Search for Defragment And Optimize Drives.
  3. Then click on Optimize.
  • Disable Unnecessary Startup Programs.

When you install a software, it will automatically lists itself in the startup program. The startup programs contains those important software which are important to load for your pc like winzip, one drive etc. Otherwise disable those unnecessary programs that will delay the boot-time and causes lag in your machine. Those software will run at background on startup and stops only when you shut-down your PC manually. To disable such software, follow steps below:

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc at once.
  2. Task Manager will pop up.
  3. Select Startup tab.
  4. Then select the program you want to disable.
  5. After selection, click on disable button.
  6. Now restart your device to observe the differences.
  • Remove Unnecessary Files.

Without any third-party programs, we are cleaning unnecessary files manually. Because those programs may affect the speed of your computer. So let’s start by deleting temporary files.

First Process:

  1. Hit Windows Key + R.
  2. Type temp and press Enter.
  3. Then a pop-up appears, again hit Enter.
  4. Now temp folder will open with a number of files in it.
  5. Select all files at once by Ctrl + A & delete by pressing Shift + Delete.

Second Process:

  1. Hit Windows Key + R.
  2. Type %temp% and press Enter.
  3. Then a pop-up appears, again hit Enter.
  4. Now temp folder will open with a number of files in it.
  5. Select all files at once by Ctrl + A & delete by pressing Shift + Delete.

Also delete every unnecessary files stored in your Recycle bin too. This idea seems silly, but files from recycle bin also affects system performance.

  • Disk Cleanup.

The native option available in every windows 10 is Disk Cleanup. This option allows you to cleanup junk files currently present in your system.

  1. Open My Computer.
  2. Right click on C-Drive.
  3. Go to Properties.
  4. Under the general tab, select Disk Cleanup option.
  5. Now select Downloaded Program Files, Temporary Internet Files, Temporary Files, Thumbnails & Recycle bin.
  6. And click on  Clean Up System Files option.
  • Registry Tweak.

You can tweak up your registry to Increase Your Laptop/PC performance. Follow these steps.

Step One:

  1. Hit Windows Key + R.
  2. Inside the Run Box, type Regedit and Press Enter.
  3. Now go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER
  4. Select Control Panel
  5. Again select Mouse.
  6. Double click the mouse hover time and change the value from 400 to 10.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Again go to Desktop.
  9. Double click on MenuShowDelay.
  10. Change the value from 200 to 10.

Step 2:

  1. Hit Windows Key + R.
  2. Inside the Run Box, type Regedit and Press Enter.
  3. Now go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
  4. Select Software.
  5. Select Microsoft.
  6. Go to Windows NT.
  7. Again go to Current Version.
  8. Find Multimedia folder and drop down system profile.
  9. Now Click on System Responsiveness.
  10. Change the Hexadecimal value to 0.
  11. Then Click OK.

Step 3:

  1. Hit Windows Key + R.
  2. Inside the Run Box, type Regedit and Press Enter.
  3. Now go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
  4. Select Software.
  5. Select Microsoft.
  6. Go to Windows NT.
  7. Again go to Current Version.
  8. Find Multimedia folder and drop down system profile.
  9. Select Task Folder.
  10. Find Games And click on it.
  11. Now open GPU Priority.
  12. Change Hexadecimal value to 8.
  13. Click on OK.
  14. Then open priority file.
  15. Change it’s Hexadecimal value to 6.
  16. Then click OK.
  17. Now close the registry editor.

After successfully performing above processes restart your computer. Then check for available windows updates. If updates are available, instantly update. After that you’ll find many difference in your computer than before. Remember, an incorrect step may cost you a lot. So, be careful and Increase Your Laptop/PC performance.
